The past year has been extraordinary for us. Life is gradually returning to normal. SOIS teachers and students are full of expectations at the beginning of the Spring Festival. They had fully prepared the cultural special performance of " Chasing the moon and the universe" for two years, and finally ushered in the stage performance in the school gym on January 13, 2023.

The performance consists of four chapters, which are mainly composed of theatrical performances, dance, singing, recitation, musical instrument performance and other forms of artistic performance, and effectively combines ideological, ornamental, innovative and cultural heritage. It focuses on the theme of " Chasing the moon and the universe" to tell the national flying dream, so that teachers and students can experience the courage and spirit of the Chinese nation's exploration of the universe.

Ancient Myth

Chang'e is a beautiful fairy tale that has been handed down for thousands of years in China. It has sent countless beautiful dreams to people. The wonderful legends of Chang'e running to the moon and Wu Gang winning the laurel have also filled countless people with imagination and yearning for the moon. The Chinese nation's dream of running to the moon in its infancy set sail!

Tang Dynasty

Although after Armstrong landed on the moon in 1969, many people knew that Chang'e's flight to the moon was only a myth, China's exploration of the moon has never stopped. Especially in the Tang Dynasty, when the country was the most powerful, from the emperor to the scholars, the yearning for the moon palace in the sky has reached an unparalleled level.

Ming Dynasty

The experience of Li Bai, the immortal of poetry, further impelled him to imagine and yearn for the beautiful life in the Moon Palace. The white moon has always been a maze, attracting mankind. Dunhuang flying frescoes are not only the treasure of painting art, but also the portrayal of ancient flying dreams.

The 21st century

Looking back at the historical footprint, spanning half a century, the space dream has never been as close and within reach as it is today, nor has it been as inspiring as it is today. The "Dongfanghong No.1" is still flying, and the construction of the space station, manned lunar exploration and Mars exploration are in full swing. Some of the people who fought for it in those years have gone back to the stars, and some are no longer young, but with the time passing, their spirit is still strong. This kind of spiritual code has become the common gene and temperament of Chinese people in the background of the old generation of astronauts living in tents and rolling on the ground, and in the dedication of the new generation of astronauts’ working day and night. Salute to the Chinese astronauts!
